Questions about Oceansouls of America

Q: What is Oceansouls of America?
A: Oceansouls of America (OSA for short) is an independently-operated fan club dedicated to bringing together Nightwish fans in North America (United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico). To read more about how we got started, who we are and where we are going, check out our Dead to the World section.
Q: What is an "Oceansoul"?
A: "Ocean Soul" is a Nightwish song (the term is also referenced in several other Nightwish songs), and fans have taken that as a term of endearment when referring to themselves. Hence the name "Oceansouls of America".

Q: I am not from North America, can I still join the forum/social network sites and take part in the goings-on of OSA?
A: Of course you can, we have forum members throughout all parts of the world who are just as enthusiastic about meeting fellow Nightwish fans. You are also always welcome to join in on our weekly chats, held every Friday evening starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard time. You can also keep up-to-date on everything we are doing through our regularly updated Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr pages. Of course, you are always welcome to visit this site or post a message at our forum as well.

Q: I made a username and account here on the site but still cannot access the forum. What happened?
A: The OSA site and OSA forum are on two different servers, so if you created a username/password here on the OSA site through Moonfruit, this is not valid at the OSA forum through Ultimate Metal, and vice-versa. Registration at Ultimate Metal is one-time only; there are many other forums there but you do not need to have separate names for the different forums. The username you create to access the OSA forum will be just as good at the Ultimate Metal home forum, the Beyond Ear Candy forum, or any other forum under the Ultimate Metal server. You do not need to participate at any of the other forums if you so wish; you can visit the OSA forum exclusively, or you can go to any of the various Ultimate Metal forums; the choice is yours. We are sorry for this inconvenience, but until a way is figured out to link the site and forum together to merge into one username/password, this is how it must be for now.

Q: If I am a member of another Nightwish fan club, can I still join the OSA?
A: Our own personal policy is that anyone from North America can join (and anyone from around the world can be part of our community as well), regardless of whether they are a member of another Nightwish fan club or not. We realize that we have many members who may have recently moved to/from another country (i.e., foreign exchange students, or those in military service), so if they want to join OSA while maintaining their membership to a fan club from another country, they are free to do so here. However, we cannot speak for any of the other fan clubs, as we do not know their policies or guidelines, and everyone has different sets of rules. Some of them may not allow "dual citizenship", so to speak, for whatever reasons of their own. If you are unsure about this, contact the fan club in question before joining the OSA to make sure that you are not breaking any of their rules or to keep your membership from needlessly being revoked from said fan club.

Q: Is OSA available on Facebook or Twitter?
A: Yes! We have just opened up both a Facebook and Twitter page for OSA, so fans can keep up-to-date with the various events and activities happening here at OSA, and stay interactive with fellow OSAers by sending us Tweets or Liking us on Facebook. We also have both Tumblr and Google+ pages. Follow the links on the main menu by hovering your mouse over "OSA Community", clicking on the page you want to visit, and join in on the fun!
Q: What are these links on the side of the OSA home page, that are the names of Nightwish songs/albums?
A: When building this website, we tried to be creative by naming the various sections of our website after Nightwish songs/releases. We tried to choose titles that came closest to describing what that particular section was for, but we realize that for some these descriptions can be vague so here is what each section is and their function: Dead to the World (about OSA), Storytime (latest news), The Forever Moments (tour info), Nightquest (site FAQ), Dark Chest of Wonders (links), Walking in the Air & Spilled Cup of Oceansoul (tribute pages), Live to Tell the Tale (band history), Lokikirja (photo gallery), Beauty of the Beast (Finnish lyric translations), Wish I Had a Video (video request archive), and End of an Era (website archives). The other sections not named after songs include: OSA forum (message board), OSA Memories (fans section), and Contact OSA (where you can get in touch with the OSA council by sending them a message or questions about this website).
